Tez

  • Dead Wax Digbeth 28 Adderley Street Birmingham, England, B9 4ED United Kingdom (map)

For TEZ, music is therapy — an exploration of life’s highs and lows. Hailing from Margate, UK, TEZ are Owen Mellett, Joe Martin and Dan Hughes — blending driving rhythms with aqueous, neo-psychedelic indie rock inspired by Palace, Foals and Two Door Cinema Club.

Since finalising their lineup in 2023, the band have premiered on the BBC, Wonderland and Earmilk, achieved over 1.5 million streams and toured across the UK and EU, most recently selling out London’s Hope & Anchor. Their sound blurs the line between melancholy and euphoria — cinematic, heartfelt indie built on shimmering guitars, pulsing drums and soaring hooks.

From bedroom project to growing sensation, their story has been one to watch. Crowdfunding and the support of charities like Help Musicians have played a major part in TEZ’s journey. Their second and third EPs, The New Era and Gloria Runs The Shop — produced by Ian Flynn (Yussef Dayes, Hozier) — were made possible through a target-smashing fundraising effort.

TEZ have supported artists including Tokyo Tea Room, Courting, Ten Hands High and The Outcharms, and were recently named Absolute Radio’s Self-Releasing Artist of the Month (Oct 2025). With Editorial support from New in Alternative and Indie Britain, Abbie McCarthy of BBC Introducing remarked, “We’ve loved these guys for a little while now,” while Wonderland Magazine expressed that they “can’t wait for more from TEZ.”

The band are set to release their fourth EP on April 10th, followed by a 6-date UK headline tour.
