This event has been postponed and upgraded to The Castle & Falcon.

The Award-winning Indie/Punk quartet Paper Buoys, who's debut album featured the politically charged 'Sharp as Razors' and anthemic fan favorite, 'Wasted', have spent the past twelve months crafting what promises to be a worthy follow up.

The band has already offered a taste of what's to come on their latest singles 'Chasing Ghosts' and 'Time Won't Wait', which both inject a whole new sense of maturity to the bands sound.

Outside of the studio, Paper Buoys have been playing shows across the UK, including recently supporting Egyptian Blue and The C33s. They have also featured on the Brum Radio A-List and been supported by BBC Introducing in the West Midlands.

It's 1959 and the leather clad greaser in the corner has just kicked the jukebox into life with the heel of his boot. A rich, powerful voice fills the diner, the raw tones of Miss Wanda Jackson, the first lady of rockabilly, make the hips sway and the people jive, one by one the inhabitants pair off and dance in a tribal celebration of sweaty, forbidden rock and roll.

Years later, in 2017 the older but still incendiary Wanda (fresh from collaboration with Jack White) would remark upon hearing Miss Harry Jordan's cover of her classic "Let's Have A Party" ...What a voice!"

Similar reactions have been garnered by everyone hearing her recordings or witnessing her live performances along with her band of pirates "Harry and The Howlers". Comprising Michelle Dawes, Kris Hill and Toby Smith. Very much a band of 2017, but with an image harking naturally back to the classic days of fifties calendar glamour, their sound is a force of nature, a radio friendly barrage of good times and primal energy, with tales of Hellfire, bad women and the equally bad men that are their eternal opposites.

Smokin’ Eskimo are a three piece originals band from the Black Country. Combining a blend of blue & rock styles, they cater for a wide range of listeners. Their lyrical content covers many aspects of modern life; from deep thoughts of the universe to taking a drive through the countryside. These are complemented well by a solid back line and some memorable, somewhat exciting riffs to get you on your feet.
